Repeat Prescriptionspill_bottle

A repeat prescription is an item that the Doctor has agreed can be issued without you having an appointment. These items are listed on the repeat list that forms the right hand side of the printed prescription or they can be viewed on line.

The repeat items will each have a minimum interval before they can be re-ordered (to prevent over-use) and a review date and/or maximum number of issues in order to ensure the appropriate monitoring takes place.

Repeat Prescriptions can be requested in several ways

  • using the on-line ordering system link at the top of this page (if you have the appropriate access). You can register for this facility through the NHS App
  • using the repeat slip on your prescription (ticking the items you require) and placing it in the prescription box outside the main surgery
  • faxing your request to the surgery on 020 8508 4383
  • asking your usual chemist to order them for you

When ordering your prescription please make it clear if you want to collect the prescription from a particular chemist rather than collecting it from the surgery.

While the current lock-down restrictions are in place all prescriptions will be sent to a chemist for collection so please make sure you let us know which chemist you would like to use

Electronic prescriptions

There is a facility for your prescription to be sent electronically to your pharmacy of choice.  Please make sure we have the correct pharmacy listed for you.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. These reviews allow us to ensure we are prescribing safely.

Please be aware that if you do not attend for your reviews or have the necessary blood tests/blood pressure measurement etc this will delay the processing of your request and may lead to a reduced duration of medication being supplied or in some cases prevent us from providing your medication at all.
