Antenatal and Postnatal Care

Congratulations!

It is very important that you receive the appropriate Antenatal care and you should have your first appointment with the Midwifery team at 8-10 weeks

Arranging your antenatal appointments

You can contact the Midwifery teams direct by clicking on the links for more information and for on-line referral.

Patient.info has a helpful guide to Antenatal care and referring yourself to the hospital of your choice.

Most of our patients are booked with our two most local units - Princess Alexandra and Whipps Cross Hospitals.

Postnatal appointments

When you have had your baby the Midwifery Department will usually let us know and we will send you a letter inviting you to register your baby with us. If you have not received this letter by the time your baby is 3 weeks old please contact us as sometimes we have not been told your baby has arrived.

When your baby is 8 weeks old we will arrange an appointment for you both to attend so that you can have your postnatal check and your baby can have their Development check and immunisations. If you have not received this letter containing your postnatal appointment date by the time your baby is 6 weeks old please contact the surgery and leave a message for the Admin team

If you are unable to attend your postnatal appointment please let us know so that we can use the appointments for other patients. We will be happy re-book your check at another time.
